Semi-detached

There’s clearly something to be said here about semiotics and Saussure and probably Umberto Eco as well but frankly, it’s Monday. Did you know there’s a crater on the moon called Saussure? I really wanted it to be named after Ferdinand, the way I wanted the Scott Memorial in Edinburgh to be named after Terry, but it never is, is it?

One of the Google Ads, at the end of the video clip read, "Chinese Lady for Dating." I assume she's waiting for a sign, too?

every time I hear that song, I love the Holland/Dozier/Holland namecheck even more.

I was going to say: 'I don't know anything about Ferdinand Saussure.' But I just looked him up on Wikipedia and now I'm not... so sure.

A dating site for semioticians, Martin. That's a disturbing thought.

Not quite as glorious as the one in Levi Stubbs' Tears, Billy.

I just stubbed my toe, BB, to distract me from the pain you caused.

Thought for sure Roland Barthes dying from getting hit by a truck in Paris was going to pop up. (Wiki said it was a laundry truck but I was taught it was an ice cream truck).
